Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Penryn™ Processors

Intel officially released it's first new processor from the Penryn series of products. Penryn is all about the eternal quest for a smaller die-size. The fabrication process of Penryn is at an incredibly small 45nm. Smaller transistors equal lower power consumption, equal less heat equal higher clock frequencies and that equals into better performance. The previous generation QX6850 was built on a 65nm fabrication process. Intel estimates that downscaling that process could save up-to 30% in power consumption.

Logitech® Z5500 Digital Speakers

Logitech is releasing some new speaker goodness. We'll see three new speaker sets from Logitech with the lovely THX certification. The new products are the Z2300, Z5300e and the Z5500 Digital sets. The first mentioned speaker is of course based on the Z2200 with the bigger difference being a aluminum black coating. The specifications remained the same. The Z5300-e is again redesigned yet is a 5.1 set with 100 Watt sub woofer and two 35 Watt front and read satellite's plus a 39 Watt center speaker.

Crem de la Crem will be the Z5500 which will probably be the follow-up of the set, the Z680 THX.
